Whole Building Air Pressurization Testing: A Case Study
Williams College had high expectations for its new South Science Building for their Biology, Chemistry and Physics departments. It had just as high expectations for the building envelope. By setting goals and expectations early, the project team worked through all phases of the project to achieve a tight building envelope and ultimately achieve a leakage rate 60% better than specified. The design and construction team will present a project case study and outline what led to this successful project.

Moisture Management in Wood High-Rise Construction
In recent years, building codes in various Canadian and American jurisdictions have been updated to allow for the construction of mid-rise wood-frame buildings up to five or six stories in height. Further to this, several pilot projects have pushed the envelope further, making use of site specific regulations to build high-rise wood framed buildings up to 18 stories in height. This has driven an evolution in wood-design, building enclosure design, and construction practices for wood-framed buildings.
